How we’ve helped to create smiles with Operation Smile

Operation Smile Creator

We’re very proud to be the part of Smile Creator pro bono project for Operation Smile Thailand.

“Smile Creator” Project happened to celebrate World Smile Day. Through various activities, our collective effort aimed bringing awareness and raise funds for our friends that, unfortunately, suffer from conditions of cleft lip and cleft palate.

Th Operation Smile Thailand team goal is to reach 100 Smile Creators to join and create activities to refund for those kids in 90 days with vision of “Power of Small, Power of Smile”.

What they do

Operation Smile is an international medical charity that provides hundreds of thousands of free surgeries for children and young adults, in developing countries, who are born with cleft lip, cleft palate or other dental and facial conditions.

It is one of the oldest and largest volunteer-based organizations dedicated to improving the health and lives of children worldwide through access to surgical care.  Founded and based in Virginia, U.S.A, Operation Smile has extended its global reach to more than 60 countries, also in Thailand.

Operation Smile Thailand has funded and supported more than 13,000 children’s of ‘free-of-costs’ surgeries amongst under-privileged patients with cleft lip and cleft palate conditions as well as burnt victims and other facial deformities.

Fact

– Approximately one in every 700 babies in Thailand is born with a cleft lip or cleft palate.
– A cleft lip or cleft palate operation costs approximately 30,000THB.

What we did

We have supported the team of Operation Smile Thailand as campaign advisor with the goal to promote it through social media channels, specially Facebook Page, Facebook Group and LINE. 

We created a landing page where people can get info, and then apply and join the project just completing an easy and user friendly Google Sheet form.

And, our digital marketing and design team has helped managing content calendar on social media channels, creating visual content in many kinds of media type, and giving advices to achieve the best solutions for LINE and Facebook. So, it was much more friendly and easy to get in touch with the family who attended the campaign, and all the related events, at any time.

We hope to have helped the team to understand better how social media can help for charity campaigns, and make the internal and external communication smoother.

Our results

We’d have to say that it was such a great successful because, at the end of campaign, we’ve got 196 kids from 77 Teams. More than 96% of what Operation Smile were expecting!

Also, they raised fund for 1.5 million THB from individual donors. That means we can help for 50 kids who suffer from conditions of cleft lip and cleft palate to have a better smile.

In terms of digital activity results we have increased  +62% in engagement, +50% clicks and +92% reactions for Operation Smile Thailand page.

By the way, all of this cannot happened if we didn’t have big support from families and kids who is the most important of this project.
